Though expensive, in-duct models end up costing much less (with time) for they use minimal energy. Warm-mist vaporizers are on the other hand quite expensive (in terms of energy consumption) for their water has to be evaporated through boiling. A humidistat can however help in controlling its running time hence cut down on unnecessary usage. More details
