Fun times!

Thanks for the great weekend of fun, food, sun, and cards :)

The Boys are back in town

Charles and Thomas are back from their fun-filled week at camp. By all accounts they had a great time and were at no time homesick for Houston.

Charles won the “Leave No Trace” award for always picking up his clothes and making his bed every morning without being asked.




Thomas won the “Ironman” award for having the strongest faith.









The boys and I get to go back in July for an overnight so that they can show me all the fun stuff they did (sorry mom… guys only).

Baseball Season Comes To An End

The Giants' loss of their first playoff game marked the end of Thomas' first, and Charles' last season in the "coach pitch" league.

Overall the team did okay. But the boys really did well this year and had a lot of fun. And although neither the boys nor the team broke any records, we do have some bragging rights when it comes to team batting averages:

2. Enrique .818
3. Thomas .800

No snow

No snow here in Virginia, but that doesn't mean we're not having fun.

Charles' First Recital

After just 4 lessons Charles felt so good about his piano playing skills that he gave the family a performance.

It took a while, but we finally got Charles to try his "big-boy bike" (thanks to a flat tire, and some peer pressure). And once he started riding it, we couldn't get him to stop. 

Bicycles

We packed up the boys and the bicycles this afternoon with one mission: learn to ride bicycles.

Mission: accomplished.

Most exciting game yet!

Charles brought his "A Game" tonight, whacking one to the fence for a triple. And although the Rockies lost 13-12, they sure made the Pirates earn it.

We couldn't be prouder, and by the look on Charles' face  after scoring a run, neither could he.

Harvard Science Night

The boys had a great time at this year's Science Night. They got to play with snakes, pet chickens, play with bones, eat cotton candy, and look at Mars.

Quick Update

The boys had their first practice today. Its going to be a great season!

Baseball Try-Outs

Charles really brought is "A-Game" this morning for the try-outs. This is his first year at coach-pitch and although he's been worried, he was completely at ease hitting one of the three pitches and catching a pop-fly!

Charles' 1st grade class presented a poetry reading of works by Jack Prelutsky titled "It's Thanksgiving"

First Day of School

The first day of school has come and gone. There were a few tears as the boys got settled into their new classrooms, but by the end of the day they were passed that and excited about the new year.

"Bad" Performance

Kids Fun Camp, the camp that the boys go to during the day, had their "Star Search" show to mark the end of the summer. Each age group put together a dance and this year's theme was Michael Jackson.
