The night belongs to Thomas

The evening started out with carrots for dinner. And what do you know? He likes them!

Then he graduated from the kitchen sink, and joined Charles in the bath tub of the big boys.

Whew! What a night.

Thomas awakens!

Mom and Charles are out on a play date. So imagine Thomas's surprise when he
woke up and found Dad hovering over him.

We're Back

I guess we need to get into the 21st Century. We forgot to blog, then we had forgotten our login, and then had to figure out how to get here again. So...thanks for the vacation photos. They are great. Looks like a wonderful time. Will Charles and Thomas ever want to be at the ranch when they're used to being by the pool! Guess we need to stock that tank and make a fishing resort, here at the Dude Farm. Hope all is well.

Everyday is Flag Day

The owner's of the beach house we were staying in placed a small American flag in the flower bed in the front of the house. Charles latched on to the idea, and 'flags' became the theme for the week. Mornings consisted of getting the flag and taking a walk around the block saying "good morning" to all of the flags.

The walk always began and ended at the house at the end of our street...

Southern CA? No... It's Galveston!

WOW! At 8am it was 74 degrees and not a cloud in the sky.

It's a little too breezy to hang out on the beach, but with the rental we got a pass to hang out at the Galveston Country Club.

So the day was spent by the pool sipping frozen fruity drinks and playing with the boys.

And of course the nights ended with a spirited game of cards...

Galveston T+1

Today was spent getting settled. Bill had to go into work. Everyone else packed up and ventured to Galveston for lunch. Charles had a GREAT time in the pool, but was otherwise crancky most of the day - he did not sleep very much at all Monday night... neither did Thomas for that matter. So it goes without saying that neither did Dianne nor Russell.

Galveston, Oh Galveston

Well, we made it. Four car loads of kids, coolers, and stuff. But we're finally unpacked and settling in. We're in a really great house... not right on the beach but with its own pool, which we prefer. Only about 6 miles from Galveston so we can run to town if we've forgotten anything... which Bill has done twice already.

Baptism

The Baptism of Thomas William Holliman was a day of joy and celebration. Everyone arrived at the Church on time. As it was too hot outside, we all clammered into the church for photos. The ceremony was somewhat informal but traditional. And Thomas was a good sport throughout. (As was Charles... at least until the congregation rose to sing...)

After the Baptism, we all headed over to Bill and Nikki's house for a light brunch... or so they thought. It really turned out to be a surprise anniversary party to celebrate their 40 years of marriage.

Thanks to everyone for coming and sharing this day with us!
