Our windows will not support the weight of plywood screwed into their frames — neither is there sufficient masonry wall surrounding them for an attachment — therefore our contractor a "good Ag" suggested saving the store from a major cleanup and letting the glass go — it wasn't a difficult decision to make!

Ritcast Technical Experiment
The technical part of the experiment was a total success. We still have the one and only good (in my opinion) segment playing on a loop over at the Houstonpodcasting.org live feed.
AP researched the story and called to talk to me about it last Friday. The article made the rounds, and seems to have been picked up by the Austin American Statesman. Any one see it in print?

Hurricane Rita
Hurricane Rita has come and left, and our part of town received little more than some rain and wind. Small branches and twigs here and there, but no damage. Never even lost power.

Eight Plus

These Hummers are headed for S. America. Ten pounds of sugar in two weeks! There are probably 20 hovering for the feeders. My camera doesn't take quick pictures!

Checking out the train
Spending the holiday weekend in Rockdale, we made a trip to see the new train car. While we were there a real train came by... Charles didn't realize that they were so big, and loud.
So we cut that short and took a tour of the feed store.
