Back Home and Back to Normal
Well, it seemed a little "touch and go" there for a while but after a little re-hydration, Charles is almost back to his old self. A little horse, but feeling MUCH better.
And with the insertion of "tubes" into his ears, his speech has become much more understandable, and frequent. He even said that word 'computer' last night!

Mystery of CR 307
There are two bright spots to the left of the dead tree, very far across the pastures from our house...only visible for a few minutes at late winter sunset for about two weeks. We now know this is reflected winter sunset on the abandoned homestead windows of Great Aunt Margaret (Pelzel) Russel's childhood house, also known as Pioneer Farm...the Pelzel lights, as we like to say.

No Joy for Charles Today
The doctor came tonight and decided that Charles needed one more night... so he is not coming home tonight. But he okay'd Dianne to take Charles home first thing in the morning :)

Charles Update
Charles is recovering well in the hospital. The only reason they did not release him today is because he is not drinking enough on his own. So hopefully tomorrow he'll be back!

For the teachers
Dianne made some really nice gifts for the teachers at the church. They are mini-lunch boxes, nicely decorated (with personal cards) and stuffed with candy and a gift. Really neat!

Santa in the Mall
Maybe missing Santa in Rockdale wasn't such a bad thing... Dianne took the boys to the mall this week, and their reaction to Santa was less than eager.
Perhaps we could have a caption contest with these.
After school at the playground
Buzznet has their 'blogthis' service back on-line. And it allows you to choose various layouts, or create your own - and it allows you to enter your text and preview your post prior to sending it to the blog.
Just another day in the big city
Snapped this photo on the way to a client's office this morning on I-10. Did not see a driver, or any others disabled cars... or cops... or even tow trucks, for that matter. And oddly enough, traffic was flowing pretty well.

EV1 Update
So after getting the "final" word this morning from EV1, that word being "NO", I decided to find another ISP for the multitude of domains that they are hosting. Low and behold, 30 minutes after migrating one domain as a test, I received that following message:
Dear Customer,
Too little, too late. So far things look great, which means that I will be moving HollimanNet here in the next week or so. It should make no difference to anyone except that there might be a 24 hour period where is unavailable (although the test migration only took three hours) and of course the FTP user name and password may change. I'll keep you posted...
Dear Customer,
We have restored the ability of our servers to accept passive FTP connections. If you continue to have issues with this account please open a new trouble ticket and we will investigate it immediately.
Sincerely,
EV1-Webtech

So if something happens....
If you check in during the next couple of days, and the site is not available, it's because my ISP (the same one that some of you are using) has decided that they cannot secure their servers and still provide passive FTP access (laughing are you, H?) - a move which kills Blogger.
Regardless, Blogger (and passive FTP) still works with hollimannet.com (even though the crack security team has secured the systems) and hopefully soon they will open it for the rest of my sites.
They might, however, discover/decide that this too is a risk and Blogger may soon be unable to access this domain. Rest assured, regardless of my 5+ year relationship with EV1, I will find a new home for hollimannet.com as well as my other domains, should it come to that.
and "yes" EV1... I hope you are reading this

December Sunrise
Not often as pretty as a sunset, probably due to the time of day, but getting HH off to work this morning brought a photo opportunity.

Water Will Rise and Fall
After four inches of rain last week, Nob Creek rose (view from our back porch) but quickly fell.
