Another Rainy Week
The theme for the week here has been: rain. Almost non-stop. But we did finally get a break here and there over the weekend. Long enough to enjoy Michelle's party on Saturday. We had a great time - met a few of her friends from work - and basically just enjoyed the afternoon.

Rainy Day in Houston
Playland |
The trip home |
After a fun-filled weekend in Rockdale for Father's Day, Charles was very bored today. So Dianne and I took Charles and Thomas to the mall for lunch and some time in the "playland." He had a ball and wore himself out - could not even stay awake for the short car ride home!

Eat at Joe's
It was a pretty boring weekend around Gardner Street. We had enough rain to keep us inside all weekend - Charles is going stir crazy. We were able to get out of the house Sunday for dinner. Dianne's friend from UofH, Dan, his wife Bonnie and new son Austin are moving to Scotland. Joy, another of Dianne's friends, her husband Don and their new daughter all met up at a Joe's Crab Shack for dinner last night. (Not a fan of Joe's but they are very kid-friendly.) The boys behaved well enough (about an hour) before getting bored. All in all it was nice to eat out.

Google Toolbar
Google Toolbar
If you have not already done so, check out the free Google toolbar. It does several very handy things including blocking pop-ups, auto-filling forms, and it keeps a google search box available at all times. No charge and no strings. It also adds a 'blogger' button so that if you come across something interesting on the web, you can send it very easily to the blog, as I have done here.

First Timer
Saying hi to all. That is the cutest picture of the boy, looking a bit like his dad, we think. Hope he is resting up for another weekend at the Dude Farm. It's another hot day, and way too humid for central Texas. Will check in again later.

A new blog.
So we've started a blog. The first question is, what is a blog? A blog is an on-line log, a journal of sorts. The entries are listed in chronilogical order and can include text and photos. Which brings us to the second question: why start a blog? We'll, it's kind of an experiment. We thought that it might be fun to have a place where we can all post entries about our days, list photos, and even interesting web sites. Visitors can read the blogs and make comments. If you'd like to be a member and post your own entries, just let me know: russell@hollimannet.com.
Thanks for checking in, and stay tuned.
