 We had 54 tons of crushed limestone delivered (two loads) and spread in the hay meadow to try to neutralize the acidic soil. Big toys for boys to watch. Wish they had been here.

The problem is getting the bacon flavor in the beer. There has been discussion on various forums, and some breweries (Garret Oliver of Brooklyn Brewery) have even made commercial examples. The main options tend to be smoking your own malt with bacon, using bacon bits, etc etc blah blah I WANT TO USE REAL BACON.

The festivities come to a close

After a birthday dinner at McDonald's (his choice) the family returned home tonight for a final celebration of Thomas' birthday. Its back to normal tomorrow :(

Thomas' 6th Birthday Party
